End of Month List: January 2021
A note to readers: I am quite busy for the next two days and may be delayed in replying to comments. Sorry about that.
An interesting start to the year. Outside music, I think it is clear that 2020's woes have transferred. I wonder how things will end up.
In music, things were better but divided. For K-Pop, the month had good songs release days apart from each other, divided by long stretches of nothingness. In the end, I counted two late-December songs for this year, and that really improved K-Pop's line-up. Still, this month was overall, for Korean music, quite underwhelming.
In Japanese music, we got a great month. Higedan, YOASOBI, LiSA, Ali, Snow Man, Spyair, Faky, and SixTONES all came back with great songs. My album of the month just chose itself, as well as the top songs.
On the charts, Olivia Rodrigo's strong Driver's License dominated the charts. Eurovision season is starting, and it looks to be good.
My top 4 songs pick themselves, all four amazing. My fifth spot was a toss-up, but I am pretty sure my top 5 will stay the same long-term, just change in order, perhaps. In fact, we have a potential song of the year lodged in the top spot!
