End of Month List: September 2021
September was dominated by one artist: Miyavi. The J-Rock legend's most recent album, Imaginary, is packed to the brim with highlights. It is all over this end-of-month list, taking with it as many awards as humanly possible. It is amazing, with a capital 'A'.
However, some surprise highlights this month kept the mix interesting. Kis-My-Ft2 came back with their best single in years, while Lee Hi and ABBA surprised with some great highlights. However, the true dark horse of the month would be SHINee's Key. While his releases have always been great, the mini-album Bad Love absolutely soared with its galactic ambitions, providing the J-Rocker with his only real challenge.
Among the honorable mentions, Miyavi's Living in Fire and Hush Hush both nearly made it into the top 5. However, they barely missed. To me, it is surprising that of the top 7 songs this month on this site, 5 are by Miyavi. He truly has been dominating.
As we near the end of the year, it is quite interesting to realize that 2021 has been quite the rollercoaster. There have been some amazing releases and a whole lot of garbage in support. It will be interesting to see how it all comes out in the end. This month has arguably been one of the most consistent this year, with a constant list of great releases. Many are ready for this site's end-of-year list.

I haven't had a chance to listen to Miyavi's release yet but I've seen you talk about it on numerous occasions so, based on your recommendation, I really must check it out and will bump it up to the top of my catch-up list!
