End of the Month List: May 2022
May was surprisingly uneventful. I mean, there were some great songs and albums, but most of those albums had great songs from previous months. There were a lot of decent songs, but very few, if no, "knock your socks off" tracks. It also is strange, as I would say this is the first month in years where western music was the standout! I am as surprised as everyone else! Scandanavia and the ABC regions were on fire, with a few definitive check-outs from the rest of the world. Hopefully, June heightens the tension, as May was somewhat sleepy.
That said, my top five songs are surprisingly solid. Spiritualized were my top artists of the month, with each song of theirs released this month at least making the honorable mentions list. They also score big on the albums list.
Additionally, this was a tragic month for Indian music, with Moose Wala, KK, and most notably, the one and only classical legend, Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, all passing away. This has been a tragic year for Indian music, and I hope the best for all these icons' families.
