Review: Tiger Shroff - Casanova

Review: Tiger Shroff - Casanova

Tiger Shroff is an Indian actor and dancer, and immensely talented in those two fields. In fact, he is probably the best dancer in modern Bollywood. Despite this, his attempts to pitch himself as a singer were, mixed. As far as Indian triple threats go, I am not sure Tiger is fully there in the singing department. I think he knows this though, as he often seems to use vocal processing in his songs.

Casanova would fit pretty well in the flirty R & B of Kai's albums. With Tiger's incredible dance skills, I feel that a production-driven dance track might have been a better usage for a song.

The opening few seconds are dramatic, hinting at a massive R & B song. Unfortunately, the synths from the opening disappeared. The snapping production is a nice choice, though hardly strong enough to drive a whole song. This section would be fine, but for whatever reason, it is in English. Tiger can speak Hindi, and the English sounds strained, making it a weird choice. Plus, the autotune here is drenched. At least it does not ruin the song.

The chorus has a nice groove, driven by some excellent synths. Unfortunately, the autotune here ruins what could have been an arguably stand-out chorus for R & B. Plus, the hook is borderline repetitive.

At least a decent effort, Tiger has finally just stopped featuring in the MVs and started singing. I wish him luck, but Casanova is only a middling effort.
