Top 10 100% Songs

100% are probably the most underrated artist of the 2010s. They have a rock-solid discography, with the top 3 being solid 10s and some of the best songs ever, and 8 or 9 9/10s or higher, some of those are 9.5s or 9.75s for me. Overall, they are so consistent that it hurts they never had a hit. Member Minwoo passed away in 2018 due to a cardiac arrest, and we lost another talented star.

Honorable Mentions:

Gorgeous
Still Again
Missing You

10. Song for you (2018)

Their last single with Minwoo, it is hard to listen to Song for you without that thought floating over your head. It is trendy and relatively generic, but the strong vocal performance and excellent arrangement actually make it a gem.

9. Want U Back (2013)

Okay, it is a little outdated, but I still really love it. The chorus is addictive, and the pre-chorus genius-ly fades the heavy staccato production to showcase the group's excellent vocals.

8. Beat (2014)

From the looks of it, a sequel to TVXQ's Mirotic from the pulsating beat to the similar (if not same) MV sets, Beat is a worthy successor. Even the seemingly astray elements of the verses lead to an epic chorus.

7. Summer Hero (2014)

A classic summer song, Summer Hero is not as daring or adventurous as other songs on this list, but just feels like a great day at the beach, riding the waves, playing volleyball, and having a blast with the ones you care about the most. The synths and guitar are very Sweetune-y, foreshadowing the group working with the producers a few years later.

6. Sketch U (2017)

A dark, dramatic ballad, Sketch U stood as a conclusion to the five-member Korean 100% discography before Minwoo's tragic passing. Emotional, sad, and with a perfect key change, this song deserves so much more love.

5. How to Cry (2017)

An electric Japanese debut, How to Cry never lowers the energy. The emotional vocals work perfectly with the Vocaloid-based instrumental. This is dark and atmospheric in one of the best ways possible.

Also, in answer to the group's question in the chorus, cut onions. That always works great for me.

4. U Beauty (2014)

Another K-Pop song deserving massive praise, U Beauty is that massive summer hit that never was. The celebratory brass, the electric synths, the excellent vocal performances, it is all here. Combine this with the great dance performance, and you get another gem.

3. Bad Boy (2012)

One of the most underrated debuts ever, Bad Boy deserves so much more than one it got. The claustrophobic synths create an epic atmosphere, while the never-reducing BPM is epic at the least. Still, this would all be for naught if it were not for the epic vocal performances, where Hyukjin and Rockhyun gave us our first look at their amazing voices.

Also, for the dance practice, they sing. No literally, they sing live in the dance practice, it is amazing. Check it out!

2. Not Today (2016)

Sweetune had already tried an 80s-inspired song in 2016 with Platonic Love, but Not Today (sometimes titled as A Day Like Today) was something else. Often times, 80s-inspired songs rely on novelty or a sense of fun. In Not Today though, the 80s are used to create a dark, pleading atmosphere, as if everything in life was dependent on the decision made by the person being sung to. Despite being epic, it is sad, a true masterpiece.

1. Better Day (2016)

Not just 100%'s best song, but one of the best K-Pop songs ever, period. Oh my, where do I even start. The piano usage here is one of the most subtle, but emotional in modern times. Then there are the unique production choices by Sweetune, creating emotional depth. But in reality, how many artists, ever, can embody the chorus with as much emotion as Hyukjin and Rockhyun do here. You can quite literally hear the members singing through the mike, with zero vocal processing. Epic, emotional, sad, uplifting. Making or performing a masterpiece like this is hard, almost near impossible, yet 100% did it, and were totally ignored.

  1. Yes, the ever so amazing yet underrated 100%. Fortunately, even though they were left out by many K-Pop fans, they won the critics. That is the most important thing you can ever hold. 100% is just an amazing artist with an amazing sound, Sweetune and them is like the same with INFINITE. It just creates wonders.

When will Sweetune come back? I have a feeling they have been blacklisted or they are just not yet ready. I hope it will be sooner. Better Day won the Critics' Circle for Best R&B in 2016. It is one of the best k-pop songs of the decade for sure and a very amazing song for sure.

    1. Well, actually I'd argue commercial success is more important than critical. After all, a positive review does not mean money.

I don't think Sweetune is blacklisted, I just think companies feel they are past their peak. Hopefully, their work with KEEMBO proves them wrong.
