About

Hello Netizens! Welcome to 10/10-Music, a blog created with the sole purpose of music reviews (no autographs please 😏).

This blog is (supposed to be) a place of objective music discussion, I will be reviewing songs not by how much I love the artists, but by the quality of the song or the album being reviewed.

A few notes before you enjoy:

1. I am entitled to my opinion, and so are you: No matter how hard I try to be objective, personal history and bias will always screw-up the opinions of individuals. Kids from the 80s (or those who grew up with 80s-esque music like me) will most likely prefer artists such as Michael Jackson, DeBarge, and Madonna in higher esteem than artists such as Drake, Justin Bieber, and Cardi B. You are entitled to your opinions, and I am too. So I am not with poor taste for not liking your song of the year, and vice versa.

2. Songs can become better or worse in one's opinion as time goes on: Sometimes, the sheer fun and cheese, other times the ubiquity can change my opinion on a peace of music. A perfect example is the this year's mega hit, 'The Blinding Lights' by The Weeknd grew on me after multiple listens (this is not suggesting I disliked it fully at first though, good can become great).

3. I will focus on Korean and Japanese music: Reviewing all good songs in the world is impossible, it is also impossible to review all hits in the world. Thus, I will (mostly) only be reviewing songs in English, Korean, Japanese, Hindi (and other Indian languages), and Mandarin unless an amazing single from another language comes my way. I will particularly focus on the South-Korean and Japanese music scenes.

My reviewing method:

I will review songs out of 10 with interval scores of 0.25. However, I will not give scores to individual factors as the whole song can be greater or weaker than the sum of its parts. As I will also review non-promoted songs from time to time, music videos do NOT equate in a song's score.

Have a blast reading, subscribe, come back regularly, and post comments!

Most importantly though, have fun!

    1. Given how your last name is shared with Lotus Kay, I presume this is some form of official promotion attempt, rather than fan spamming. If so, congrats to her for releasing her first EP!

Just heard the EP, it is nice, but I don't think I'll give it a full-length album review. Almost all the tracks were released over a month ago, and thus they have to be really, really good for me to review.

However the album does sound really good, even if it will not get a full-lenth review. I love the production in 'Dirty Little Secret', along with the sort-of poppy swag in 'Irrelevant Information'. 'Rule the World' is also a strong conclusion. The last three tracks are particular good.

Maybe I'd give one of the three tracks a mini-review in the end-of-month compilation.

Also, I'd define the album as more mid-tempo pop with occasional trap elements, rather than Rap Pop. I see the potential in Rule the World though!

Next time you have a request, you can use the newly created 'contact' page.

      Congrats on the first EP!
